Need to Make Some Extra Money? Two Ways You Can Do This

Posted on: 19 November 2021

If you are low on cash and need to make some extra money to pay bills, buy food, or save up for something, there are many ways you can do this. Below are two of the ways so you can get some green in your pocket.

Use a Pawn Shop

A pawn shop is a fast way to make some extra money. Choose items that sell well at pawn shops, such as jewelry, power tools, electronics, and sporting goods. The pawn shop will offer you a price, but you can haggle with them to get a better one. If they choose to purchase your item, they will give you the money immediately.

If you do not want to sell anything you can still make money. For example, you can tell the pawnshop to keep an item for a certain amount of time so you can pay the money back. Once you do, they will return the item to you. You should know you will generally not get as much for your item in this way but is still a great way to make a little extra cash. You do need to make sure you pay the money back in the allotted time. If you do not, the pawnshop can sell your item.

Have a Yard Sale

Another way to make money is by having a yard sale. You likely have a lot of items around your home that you do not use or need. This may be clothing for you or clothing your children have outgrown. If you have kids, they may have toys that they no longer use. Older gaming systems generally sell well if the system is in good condition. If you have games to go with it may sell even better.

Set up the yard sale so it is easy for people to shop. Put items on tables so people can clearly see them. If you have a lot of one item, put them all on the same table and put a sign on what the price is so you do not have to individually price them. You can advertise your yard sale by putting signs up in your neighborhood, and there are online sites that advertise yard sales. Starting your yard sale on a weekend is generally good. You will likely get more customers on the weekend compared to a weekday.

With both pawn shops and yard sales, as well as many other things, there are plenty of ways to earn a little extra cash for not too much work.
